scheme

Early Stage Researchers (ESR) - Experience Eligibility Criteria

  • Early-stage researchers (ESRs) are those who are, at the time of recruitment by the host institution, in the first four years (full-time equivalent) of their research careers. This is measured from the date when they obtained the degree which would formally entitle them to embark on a doctorate, either in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country in which the research training is provided.

Experienced Researchers (ER) - Experience Eligibility Criteria

  • Experienced researchers (ERs) must, at the time of recruitment, either be in possession of a doctoral degree, irrespective of the time taken to acquire it, or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience. This is measured from the date when they obtained the degree which formally allowed them to embark on a doctorate in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country in which the research training is provided. The research experience of an ER recruited for initial training may not exceed 5 years at the time of the appointment.

  Mobility Elegibility Criteria

  • At the time of selection by the host organisation, researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of their host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to their recruitment. Short stays, such as holidays, are not taken into account. Researchers can be nationals of any country (including all countries outside Europe).
